From humble beginnings…

Middlemarch has been a destination for holiday-makers since the Railway first arrived in the township. A holiday park was first established in Middlemarch in the 1980's and the present owner took over operation in 2012.

Where we are today?

With the increasing popularity of the Otago Central Rail Trail Middlemarch has become a more popular destination than ever.

The Middlemarch Holiday Park is a one minute bicycle ride from the start of the Otago Central Rail Trail making Middlemarch Holiday Park the perfect place to stay, both before and after your journey.

From Central Otago

There is a daily bus service from Queenstown via Cromwell and Alexandra to Middlemarch, or alternatively you could charter a scenic flight from Queenstown/Wanaka. The Central Otago Rail Trail operates from Clyde to Middlemarch and you can hire bikes and all the equipment from either the Clyde or Middlemarch end.

From Dunedin

Middlemarch is one hour drive from Dunedin City on State Highway 87 via Mosgiel and Outram. The Taieri Gorge Train also departs daily from the Dunedin Railway Station.
